I’m sick of it and it’s everywhere and it’s going to continue to be everywhere until more of us start dropping little emails to companies like the choice, yet polite, words I’m going to flung at both companies. There is a Hamburger Helper commercial airing right now that shows a series of women, as moms, with the trademarked Helper hand, all talking about making dinner. How delightfully 1950s! Oh, but it continues.

Never before have I been so astounded and disgusted by such a large-scale ad campaign. The latest commercial for McDonald’s new white meat Chicken McNuggets involves a young couple sitting in a booth at a clean, modern McDonald’s. As the young woman begins to eat the McNuggets, she tunes out her boyfriend, losing herself in the experience of eating a McNugget actually made from a recognizable body part.

Here are several tips on writing a good “I hate this!” copy:

- explain what you particularly hate;
- be just. If there are positive features, try and note them;
- let it not be too short. A good “I hate this!” copy is at least 1000 chars. long;
- a little bit of formatting is a good idea.
