I hate the new trend of advertising up & coming shows in that little pop-up box at the bottom of the screen. Usually right after a commercial. I especially hate it when they cover up information, such as a ‘closed caption / translation’, a date, location, the person speaking’s ID, etc…

You’d think they could take the effort to screen the feature, and apply the box at an appropriate time, as to not cover up info. This does apply to more educational / documentary type shows. Some channels are worse than others, features the “reminders” after every single commercial! They are becoming TV’s version of ‘Banner Ads’ on websites!

I hate..

I hate newer TV shows (documentaries & informational / educational) that stretch what would normally be a ½ hr show into an hour. They could quite easily add more information on the subject and make it a full hour. But this ‘repeating to stretching it out’ to fill time, or reduce overall content to appeal to an ADD crowd. Especially with phrases & trends that “Right after the break, we’ll see what/how/why this happened/resulted/occurred” to only get after the break, “we just saw what/how/why, and now we’ll find out what happened/resulted/occurred”. They essentially waste the last few minutes before a break to tell you what to expect, to only get a reprise of the last segment of the show after the break. Are we that short sighted? Are we that dumb that we need reminders of what we just saw 10 minutes ago?

I Hate..

I hate it when my TV show gets postponed because of some stupid Football game, Basket ball, or golf. Why do we non- sports people have to suffer when a games goes on longer than expected.. Why can’t the game get postponed for the regularly scheduled programming. My sister & I fondly remember many disappointed Sunday nights, when “The wonderful world of Disney” was postponed because of some stupid sports game…. And then to get the “We now return you to your program, already in progress” Especially when it’s a premier, a new episode, or the news. Something you won’t get again, or for a while!
