The advancement of the automobile can be attributed to one person, Henry Ford. Sure, there are many, many companies that have taken the foundational principle Henry Ford started in the factory and have improved upon it many times over, but Henry Ford, without a doubt, gets all the credit for the automobile. I hate Ford. Without the automobile, no one would be expected to be at work on time. Without the automobile, the dating world would be transformed. Without the automobile, progress would slow to a pace that might be manageable. Without the automobile, relationships between people would still be dependant upon us getting along in order to further ourselves. Without the automobile, travel would still be by horse drawn carriage (how cool was that?). Without the automobile, life would basically be the same as it was before the automobile…which would be good.

Before you criticize, it may be seen as a good thing that Henry Ford started the industry rolling along, but think about it. Pollution and the cost of fueling cars alone tip the scales between good and bad, don’t they? Today’s world is so different that that of our fathers, or of their fathers. Progress continues to push us forward…but is that good? Henry Ford made one of the biggest contributions to making life go faster…all of which I hate!

Fast is not good….in anything. Fast leads to indigestion, mistakes, incorrect assumptions and errors that cause mass confusion! The price of gas continues to rise (fast) causing deficits in other financial areas of life. Less money for other necessities and a higher price to go anywhere, causing stress in all areas of life and the domino effect continues. Henry Ford had no idea the impact of his invention. Variable forms of his automobile would take over the world and employ countless employees, start up countless companies and supplier companies, each of those employing countless numbers of people and related marketing, advertising and sales industries to sprout beginning even more new industry.

Car accidents claim millions of lives and cost us thousands in insurance premiums each year. Emissions have caused the “green-house effect” to permeate our world and change radically the seasons, causing warm weather months to be almost unbearable and cold weather months to be so cold that it doesn’t snow…it freezes! I hate Ford, though I hate other car makers as well!

The Department of Natural Resources tells us that millions of deer and other animals die each year at the hand of motorists young and old alike. The population of these animals and their place in the food chain continues to be evaluated annually, but it goes without saying that automobiles wreck nature in more ways than one.

It’s gotten so that cars these days all look the same, regardless of make or model. Before the turn of the century, one could identify not only the make and model, but the YEAR the car was made, simply by the body design of the car. Auto makers world wide mimic one another so closely anymore it is difficult to tell one car from the next. Ford would roll in his grave!
