I hate bad search engines marketing!
Web January 19th, 2006Yes, I mean it! These doorways, cloaked pages and keyword stuffed websites make me feel I’m plainly taken by all these guys and the only thing they care about considering my search attempts is money! God save the white SEO, God damn those spammers! You see, I’m just an ordinary Internet geek. I enjoy surfing the web, and I frequently use the Internet as the primary source of various information (i.e. for my studies, work etc.)
And I’m really mad when I should list something like up to five pages of search results to find a site relevant to my query. The rest is this Internet trash – doorways, hallways, cloakers etc. They flood the SERPs and people have to dig through these piles of garbage trying to find what they’ve been searching for.
Definitely it is the result of the trend we’ve been observing through the last years – advertisers want targeted traffic and what can be more targeted than the traffic from the search engines? And that’s what we have – if you want to find some information on a diet pill, you should browse hundreds of pages, redirecting you to the online drugstores and only then you may be lucky to find some page telling you about this very pill.
Search engine marketing strategies should be thoroughly studied by the search engines. I do think they are not active enough fighting all these SE spammers. The user’s interests should stay on top of the list. However, the search engines themselves keep turning into sort of big advertising portals… Paid results first, SE spam comes second and relevant results are somewhere in the unreachable locations. That’s sad…
