Ok, I have been in Memphis for a little over a year now. Up to about 4 months ago I just walked away from one bad service experience after another. I then thought wait, you need to let people know. So when I received bad service, I politely now ask them why? Ok, because I am the laziest cook ever I eat out all the time, and I will post one experience at a time. Let me first say: everything I say here is true, I have not embellished it in anyway. You will understand why I have said this once you start seeing what happens.

My local Wal-Mart. I walk in be greeted by a happy smiling face? Oh I wish, I walked in and slowly walk past the door greater, a 400Lb lady open mouth chewing gum, and didn’t say a word to me!, not a hello, not anything. Once I got past the ice maiden, I watch to see if it was just me….nope. I saw 7 people get the same response. Ok, well, putting that behind me, I moved on into the store…. Some Christmas decorations I think. I was struggling to find a particular item, and yes I made a mistake number 2 - I asked for some help. Can you tell me where the cans of snow spray are…..? The blank look wasn’t promising…

“No I don’t know,” she said.

“Ok, could you find someone who does”, I ask…

“You’ll have to find them”, and with that she walked off.

Ok, I will get my snow another time.

Next - the dangerous department of baby’s items. After seeing some baby’s wipes but the brand I normally use for our child, I ask when ‘once she had finished chatting with her friend, if they have the Huggies brand in.

“If it’s not on the shelf - we don’t have it.”

Hmmm interesting that is, because the store door are right by the baby department, and guess what was in the very first crate that could be seen - Huggies wipes. At this point I crossed the wipes off and got a few other items and used the self check out, and then finally had to cross the receipt checking desk. I had a receipt in my hand and 2 items, and was asked for my receipt, at this point I said it is like pulling teeth to get anything in this Wal mart - and guess what the ever ready customer service training kicked right it…. ‘I don’t make the rules’ yep that was her comment! I spent 20 mins on hold the next day to WalMart head office to complain. Then I got cut off. Ahhh, service - don’t you just miss it.

I hate WalMart? Surely I do.

Next time I have a KFC story - that is beyond belief!
