There is a different issue at work here...theres a difference between an attractive woman and "flat-chested boy" you so eloquently describe. Personally I don't find anything whatsoever attractive about big sweaty women who refuse to look after themselves. Let's face it...women aren't the smartest creatures on earth and they need to be told how to look. But you do tend to get the rebellious ones trying to unsucessfully trying to create their own little benchmark of "fuller figures" and "love-handles" or whatever other nice sounding terms you can use to hide the hideous reality of manly beerguts on big sweaty women.

I too stopped buying any women magazines when it started to spread the sort of silly insanities you above mentioned. Apparently, it is the only way they managed to boost their sales. It's just another ugly head of that everyday more obscene society we are living in.

Now I'm reaching the middle of my life or so, I do have some concerns when I see underage models posing in almost always sexually explicit ways (haggard look like they had just come, half open mouth, chest foward, bum forward). Even wearing clothes you cannot miss that. It reminds me of how much coveted I was when I was let's say 14 or 15. I honestly think sometimes this is a hidden way to promote not clothes, not fashion but just to entertain paedos. And because clothes look 'better on tomboy body teenagers' is no excuse.

This leads me to add something (off topic sorry). A few years ago one major Supermarket brand started to sell thongs for little girls. Thongs! Thank god they had to stop. The sad thing is that some little girls get caught up in this horrible fashion world insanity. I'm not even sure they perceive how sexualised they look in all this lipstick-mascara-high heel-miniskirts apparel. Blame whoever you want but in my opinion it's within parental responsibility. Just look out on the streets and you'll spot many women obsessed with the way their daughters look.

Now we all have a choice don't we? Not to buy them, not to read them, full stop. This ain't reality but no matter how loud it's been recurrently said, people with low self esteem won't listen.

I agree, the gays want women to look like little boys, it is stupid that women pay any attention to the fashion industry, they say "oh this is hot and you are a freakin waste of space if you dont wear it", then five months later, its "that is sooooooooooooooooooo yesturday, that is crap, now this is the new look" what a bunch of crap, most of the stuff looks like homeless people wore it first. what ever happened to looking pretty and handsome?

the fact that the skeletons are still being used to sell clothes just says they dont give a crap, they want YOU to look like a flat chested boy. now stop eating, all of the photos are airbrushed to make the sticks look perfect, I can make you look like a model too, just send a photo and I will open it up in photoshop and erase any sign that you are human. can make you look like a plastic whore. Imagine what sort of jerk sells clothes to make six and seven year old girls look like little prostitutes.

I agree with the lonerangers, I do think that there is animosity on the part of gay men toward women. But of course, all gay people are perfect, so this is very un PC . . . I never buy fashion magazines, I'm a single mom of modest means and 90 pound teenage girls in $4,000 dresses have nothing to do with me or my life!

Surprisingly few people get the real reason why the whole fashion infrastructure was put into place.

Fashion in all forms: clothing, make up, reality shows, the very same size categorization (+/- sizes and whatever that means), all this is a set of effective instruments with the sole purpose of controlling women.

I'm a guy (no... i'm not gay or even metrosexual), and that's why i have been able to figure this one out.

Here is how it works:

straight, shauvinistic, cigar smoking, Hummer driving, millionaire, middle aged men coached by their tenfold materialistic fathers, have been working on a way to compensate their inferiority complex (while minimising the damage caused by the old habit of signing off to their spouses much of their tax-evaded riches), ever since the sexual revolution and the breach of most of the glass ceiling imposed by deer hunting, fallicly deficient old business tycoons.

These men knew nothing about women, obviously, still they had to find a way to keep their grub and still use their spouses for their IRS defeating purposes. The answer lies in another question:

Who hates women more than straight shauvinistic men?

The answer is more than obvious: gay men.

It's hard to tell when this mechanism started, but sure enough at some point in time, the envy for female genitalia of this particular gender grew to such point that the powersuits decided it was worth to strike the deal.

Look around and you'll notice several common traits among style-driving gay men:

1. The obsession for the little-boy figure type.
2. The cattyness and contempt for good looking women, especially if they are curvy.
3. The territorial attitude.

Put a bunch of extremely catty gay men in charge of the fashion industry and you'll make billions while at the same time keeping the gentle sex brainwashed.

The trick is to make the gay-driven fashion trends look like what women want. It's easy. It's everywhere. Men, women, children, we all want to be noticed. We all want attention, and we will pay through the nose to get it.

By paying through the nose i also mean in terms of social compromise and ultimately... self esteem.

The fashion industry turned women into a crowd of envious and catty straight version of the same gay men who drive the industry. Ask people from older generations, like in the 60s or 70s: women were never this "girly" and shallow back then. Sure enough they were catty and competitive, but NEVER like they are now.

It's all this stress of looking like a movie star that drives women in that direction... and who controls what people wear in the movie industry? The fashion industry.

Before you ask i am not homophobic. I have gay friends too and sure as heck they agree with me. Much like the difference between gentlemen and pigs, or ladies and tramps, there are gay men and there are drama queens. Sadly... i'm sure you can easily guess whom the powersuit chose for the task.
